* imap: improve reconnect stabilityKoni Marti2022-02-061-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | improves the robustness of the imap reconnect feature which was introduced in commit beae17a6da37 ("imap: auto-reconnects on connection error"). If a connection error is emitted, the message list is cleared and a corresponding error message is shown in the ui. Status bar is updated as well. Upon reconnect, the directories and the message list will be re-fetched (same behavior as the connect command). Reconnect can be enabled and disabled with the connect and the disconnect commands. * imap: auto-reconnects on connection errorKoni Marti2022-01-191-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | if the worker emits a connection error, the ui will automatically send back a reconnect command. The worker then establishes a new connection. Auto-reconnect is disabled when the user sends the disconnect command. Fixes: https://todo.sr.ht/~rjarry/aerc/1 Signed-off-by: Koni Marti <koni.marti@gmail.com>
* imap: emits connection error on logoutKoni Marti2022-01-191-0/+3
| | | | | | | | implements a new connection error message. This allows the worker to emit a connection-related error message to the ui when the imap client closes the loggedOut channel. Signed-off-by: Koni Marti <koni.marti@gmail.com>
* messages: allow displaying email threadsy0ast2021-11-131-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Display threads in the message list. For now, only supported by the notmuch backend and on IMAP when the server supports the THREAD extension. Setting threading-enable=true is global and will cause the message list to be empty with maildir:// accounts. * update tcell to v2 and enable TrueColor supporty0ast2020-12-181-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Also update to the tcell v2 PaletteColor api, which should keep the chosen theme of the user intact. Note, that if $TRUECOLOR is defined and a truecolor given, aerc will now stop clipping the value to one of the theme colors. Generally this is desired behaviour though.
* Add support for :rmdirARaspiK2020-08-191-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The `:rmdir` command removes the current directory (`-f` is required if the directory is not empty). This is not supported on the notmuch backend. An issue with the maildir backend is that some sync programs (e.g. offlineimap) may recover the directory after it is deleted. They need to specifically be configured to accept deletions, or special commands need to be executed (e.g. `offlineimap --delete-folder`) to properly delete folders. A danger of using this on the IMAP backend is that it is possible for a new message to be added to the directory and for aerc to not show it immediately (due to a slow connection) - using `:rmdir` at this moment (with `-f` if the directory already contains messages) would delete the directory and the new message that just arrived (and all other contents). This is documented in aerc(1) so that users are aware of possible risks.
* show error if account view creation failsReto Brunner2020-08-101-4/+9
| | | | | | | | This can happen for example if aerc is compiled without notmuch support but the notmuch worker is requested. Pushing a status message isn't good enough, as this gets overridden pretty quickly if one has multiple accounts configured. So we show a fullscreen error instead.

* Make grid sizes dynamicJeffas2020-06-091-27/+20
| | | | | | | | | The grid used static sizes which meant that changing settings didn't have an effect on elements of the ui, notably the sidebar width. This patch makes the `Size` parameter of a cell a function which returns the `int`, allowing for dynamic sizes. A `Const` function is also included for ease of use for static sizes.

* Add Style configurationReto Brunner2020-05-271-6/+5
| | | | | | | | | | The following functionalities are added to configure aerc ui styles. - Read stylesets from file with very basic fnmatch wildcard matching - Add default styleset - Support different stylesets as part of UiConfig allowing contextual styles. - Move widgets/ui elements to use the stylesets. - Add configuration manual for the styleset
* Change MarkedMessages to return uidsReto Brunner2020-05-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Especially if one tries to interact with all marked messages there could be the case that not all headers are fetched yet, hence the messageInfo is still nil. This segfaults a lot of commands which in principle only need the uid to complete. If we switch to uids, this issue can be alleviated for those commands.
* Add recall commandJeffas2020-04-241-0/+4

* Don't set the store on an update to itJeffas2020-02-281-4/+0
| | | | | | Updates to a store can be asynchronous so we shouldn't select it just because it had an update. Selection of the stores should be driven by explicit user commands.
* Revert "Only fetch the directory contents when we are switching directories"Reto Brunner2020-02-191-1/+1
| | | | | | | This reverts commit bd4df530095ee343778a59120a9e641c01010b0f. I did not properly untangle the opening / dirlist update of each other. This interferes with the imap worker, hence the revert
* Only fetch the directory contents when we are switching directoriesReto Brunner2020-02-161-1/+1
| | | | | | Previously, sending a DirectoryInfo assumed that a directory change happened. However we don't want that if we only want to update the unread message count.

* config: Strongly type context typeReto Brunner2020-01-241-2/+2
| | | | | | | | The go compiler can't help much with untyped int constants. Even though the only valid constants are 0-3 it will happily accept 4 as input. Let's let the go compiler worry about correctness here. This also allows people not very familiar with the code to use it properly via auto completion.

* Add sorting functionalityJeffas2019-09-201-0/+14
| | | | | | | | There is a command and config option. The criteria are a list of the sort criterion and each can be individually reversed. This only includes support for sorting in the maildir backend currently. The other backends are not supported in this patch.

* Add MouseableJeffas2019-09-111-2/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the Mouseable interface. When this is implemented for a component that item can accept and process mouseevents. At the top level when a mouse event is received it is passed to the grid's handler and then it trickles down until it reaches a component that can actually handle it, such as the tablist, dirlist or msglist. A mouse event is passed so that components can handle other things such as scrolling with the mousewheel. The components themselves then perform the necessary actions. Clicking emails in the messagelist opens them in a new tab. Textinputs can be clicked to position the cursor inside them. Mouseevents are not forwarded to the terminal at the moment. Elements which do not handle mouse events are not required to implement the Mouseable interface.
* Ignore scroll command when msgstore is nilJelle Besseling2019-08-121-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | Fixes ~sircmpwn/aerc2#205. Many functions do a nil check on the store, so this changes Store() so it returns nil when msglist is nil. It also places the Scroll() behind the nil check in the next-message command. https://todo.sr.ht/~sircmpwn/aerc2/205
* msglist: add initialization stateReto Brunner2019-08-021-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | Make the msglist aware of whether we are still initializing or not. We never stopped spinning the msglist if we didn't get any Directories back from types.ListDirectories. With this change, we can set the init state from the account and display the spinner only if we don't know whether we have directories or not and else the "no messages" string from the config.
* Ring bell when new messages arrive0.2.0Ben Burwell2019-07-291-0/+4
| | | | | | | | Add a "new-message-bell" option to the UI section of aerc.conf. A new hook into the message store allows the msglist widget to detect new messages being added to the displayed list. When new messages are delivered, and the new-message-bell option is enabled (as it is by default), the terminal will beep.
* Move msgstore map to dirstoreJeffas2019-07-261-25/+23
| | | | | | This map represents a mapping from directory names to their associated messagestores anyway so they should be under dirstore. This simply moves them there and adds some methods required to interact with them.
* Add new-email triggerJeffas2019-07-261-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch sets up the trigger config section of aerc.conf. Each trigger has its own function which is called from the place where it is triggered. Currently only the new-email trigger is implemented. The triggers make use of format strings. For instance, in the new-email trigger this allows the user to select the trigger command and also the information extracted from the command and placed into their command. To actually execute the trigger commands the keypresses are simulated. Further triggers can be implemented in the future. Formatting of the command is moved to a new package.

* Factor UI models out of the worker message packageBen Burwell2019-07-081-4/+5
| | | | | | | | Before, the information needed to display different parts of the UI was tightly coupled to the specific messages being sent back and forth to the backend worker. Separating out a models package allows us to be more specific about exactly what a backend is able to and required to provide for the UI.

* Add archive commandRobert Günzler2019-06-091-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adds an archive command that moves the current message into the folder specified in the account config entry. Supports three layouts at this point: - flat: puts all messages next to each other - year: creates a folder per year - month: same as above, plus folders per month This also adds a "-p" argument to "cp" and "mv" that works like "--parents" on mkdir(1). We use this to auto-create the directories for the archive layout.
