Recent trends are to handle uploading data in higher-level tools (e.g. redhat-support-tool or web based management UIs) and the python ftp library does not support modern requirements like HTTP proxy traversal or encryption. It's probably also worth either documenting the fact that UI text is still printed when --quiet is given in non-batch mode or changing interactive mode to only print essential prompts when run with --quiet.
